Williams, Rose M.   

ROCKVILLE — Rose M. Williams, 86, of Rockville, died at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29,
2009, in her residence. She was born on April 7, 1923, in North Terre Haute, to Rex and
Bertha Freers Johnson. She was a homemaker. She married the Rev. Albert Williams, on
June 17, 1940, and he preceded her in death, on Sept. 14, 2005.She was a member of
Otterbein United Methodist Church and Otterbein Ladies Aid.Survivors include her three
daughters, Ruth Harbour of Rockville, Barbara Hicks of Kokomo and Nancy Wall of
Rockville; one special adopted daughter, Sandi Beaman of Rockville; five grandchildren;
and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one
brother, Robert Johnson; and one great-grandchild.Services are 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4,
2010, at Otterbein United Methodist Church in Bellmore, with the Rev. J. Daeschner
officiating. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park in Terre Haute. Visitation is Monday, in the
church, from 11 a.m. until time of service. Barnes and Rice Funeral Homes assisted with
arrangements.  
Voit, Adeline Catherine "Dell"    

"Dell" Voit, 96, of Westminster Village, in Terre Haute, quietly took the hand of her Lord
and went to her heavenly home at 5:30 a.m. Dec. 30, 2009. She was born on Nov. 25,
1913, in Shirkieville, as Adeline Bidwa, a coal miner's daughter. She attended Deming
School and was a proud member of the "Black Cats" at Gerstmeyer Technical High
School. She was a member of St. Ann's Parish. Dell worked in her uncle's grocery store
and became a butcher. She also worked at Hulman Company stapling "Clabber Girl
Baking Powder" cook books that were included in the cartons with the baking powder.She
married Stanley Paul Voit on June 23, 1934, in Terre Haute, and he preceded her in
death. Stanley taught her how to plow a field at their farm on Rosedale Road and for
many years the family became renowned for their excellent produce. Adeline also worked
as a forklift operator during World War II for five years at the Terre Haute Ordinance,
following that she became clerk at Ruben H. Donnelley Company for 21 years. She retired
and continued with her love of gardening and working around her farm. Dell relocated to
New Madrid, Mo., and Reston Va., before returning home to Terre Haute. Dell was a PTA
president of Deming and helped consecrate Sacred Heart Church. She belongs to
T.O.P.S. Club and MAL-PAL and Otter Creek home economics.Those left to cherish her
memory are her two daughters, Sonya Anne Davis and husband Lowell D. Davis and Lynn
Estelle Knott and husband Robert (Bob) Knott; five grandchildren, John Lowell Davis and
wife Ruth, Andrea E. Davis, Kerrie E. Garcia and husband John; P. Ross Vickers and wife
Valerie and Bart J. Vickers and wife Amy; eight great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law,
circle of friendship with everyone with whom she came in contact and her spirit and
warmth will be sorely missed by all of us.Services are noon Saturday, at Roselawn Funeral
Home, 7500 N. Clinton St. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is 10 a.m. to 12
p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.  
Hedges, Audrea Mae    

Audrea Mae Hedges, 93, passed away in her residence in Lafayette, at 9:55 p.m. on Dec.
29, 2009. She was born to Guy and Marion Seaward, on Aug. 6 1916, in Vigo County.She
is survived by one son, Jay R.Hedges and his wife Cheryl of Lafayette; one
granddaughter, Tessa Hedges; nieces, Helen Nelson, Nancy Brannon, and Betty Jo
Hedges; nephews, Larry Hedges, Ricky Hedges, Dean Ellis, and Joe Beai; and several
great-nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Hedges;
three sisters, Iris Seward Ellis, Dale Seward Beai, and Veda Seward; one brother, Henry
Seward; and her parents. She was a member of Fairview Church of Christ in Clinton. She
was an avid dog lover and she will be sadly missed by her family, friends and
neighbors.Private services will be held.  
Stutsman, Marion L.    

Marion L. Stutsman, 78, of Terre Haute, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at Terre Haute
Regional Hospital. She was born in Prairie Creek, on Sept. 13, 1931, she was the
daughter of Charles and Mabel (Paddock) Kelly. She retired as a machine operator at
Bemis and Company and was a member of the Southside Church of Christ.Her husband,
John Stutsman, preceded her in death, on June 17, 1987. She is survived by a
sister-in-law, Rosalie Trimmer; a niece, Denise Turner and her husband Don; several
cousins; a lifelong loving friend and her caretaker, Dorothy Jenkins and her husband
John; and a host of many friends.Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday in
DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive, with Jeremi Myers officiating. Calling
hours are from 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.

Lynn W. Hippleheuser

Mr. Lynn W. Hippleheuser, age 77, of Terre Haute, passed away Jan. 3, 2010 in the Union
Hospital. Born Jan. 27, 1932 in Terre Haute, he was the son of Guy M. Hippleheuser and
Helen L. (Ferry) Hippleheuser. He married Barbara M. White and she preceded him in
2003.  Lynn graduated from Gerstmeyer High School. He served in the US Marine Corp
during the Korean War. He worked and retired from the Civil Service Air Force at Norton
Air Force Base in San Bernadino, CA. Survivors include 2 brothers, Robert Hippleheuser,
Terre Haute, and Maurice Hippleheuser and wife Ann, Joliet, IL; a sister-in-law Deborah
Baker and husband Robert R., Mt. Zion, IL; and several nieces and nephews. He was
preceded by his parents, wife, and 2 brothers Charles “Tony” Hippleheuser and Guy
Hippleheuser. He will be sadly missed by friends and family in Terre Haute and also in
Decatur, IL. Visitation only will be Thursday from 11 to 2:00 PM at the Roselawn Funeral
Home. Entombment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Park. IN lieu of flowers donations
may be made to the American Cancer Society.
June Mary Cusick   

June Mary Cusick, 89, died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009. in her residence in Melbourne, Fla.
She was born March 31, 1920, in Terre Haute, to Richard "Dick" Davis and Kathryn
Shaffer. Her stepfather is Arthur Shaffer. She was a long time resident of West Terre
Haute prior to relocating to Florida in 1986. She was preceded in death by her husband,
John H, Cusick; her parents; and a brother, Jack Shaffer.Survivors include a daughter,
Bay; a brother, Robert Shaffer of San Juan, Texas; sister, Carmen Burns of Terre Haute;
six grandchildren, Jeffery Anderson of Jackson N.J., Stacey Connelly of Chicago, LeAnn
Cusick of Palm Bay, Debbie McDonald of Terre Haute, Truli Cusick of Portland, Ore., and
Matthew Cusick of Palm Bay; and 10 great-grandchildren.She was a loving mother,
grandmother and sister who will be greatly missed.Funeral services will be Thursday at 11
a.m., at Roselawn Funeral Home, with Pastor Ray Leach officiating. Burial will follow at
Roselawn Memorial Park.  
Briley Lynn Stoner   

Angels came down from heaven and took Briley Lynn Stoner by the hand on Jan. 1, 2010.
She entered our world only a few months ago, on Sept. 23, 2009, in Terre Haute, to her
mommy and daddy, Natasha Stoner and Nicholas Aue. She was the light of her families
eye, always smiling and happy. Mommy nicknamed her "Smiley Briley." Briley was the
Stoner families "true miracle." Waiting for her up in heaven are her
great-great-grandparents, the Causey's; and a very close friend, Romer. She has left
behind on the earth her mommy and daddy; maternal grandparents, Brian and Rhonda
Stoner; maternal great-grandparents, Roger and Janalou Nolan, and Paul and Janice
Stoner. Also surviving are great-aunts and uncles, Amanda Muncie and her husband
Rob, and Kristy Minger and her husband Rob, and her favorite uncle, Trey Stoner.
Private services were held at Roselawn Funeral Home. Briley has been laid to rest in
Roselawn Memorial Park, surrounded by other babies who have helped make heaven a
more beautiful and special place.  
Priscilla Rose Stanley   

Priscilla Rose Stanley, 62, of Terre Haute, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 5, 2010. at Union
Hospital. She was a homemaker. She was born Feb. 19, 1947, in Terre Haute, to Alcie
Wilson and Velma Lois Norris Wilson. Her husband, David Lee Stanley, died in
1997.Survivors include four daughters, Tammy Holler Hawkins, Lisa Blake, Teresa Sanft,
and Michelle Ann Lucas; two sons, Charles William Brackall and Darren Lee Stanley; two
brothers, Harvey "Buddy" Wilson and Allen Wilson; three sisters, Shirley Archer, Judy
Smith and Connie Berry; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; friend and
companion, Larry Harmon; and several nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in
death by her parents; one daughter, Laura Goodman; and a brother, Raymond Lee
Wilson.Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dick
Dragon officiating. Burial is at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Jeremy W. Byerley   

Jeremy W. Byerley, 26, of Terre Haute, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, from injuries
sustained in an automobile accident. He was employed with AET in Terre Haute. He was
born on Jan. 7, 1983, in Longview, Texas, to Earl A. Byerley and Connie Mitchell
Byerley.Survivors include his mother of Clinton; his father and stepmother, Earl and Gayle
Byerley of Terre Haute; two brothers, Dustin Byerley of Terre Haute and Austin Miller of
Clinton; a niece, Hayley Byerley of Terre Haute; and many aunts, uncles, cousins; and
other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Lela
Mitchell; and his paternal grandfather, Earl Byerley.Funeral services are noon Saturday in
Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. Third St., in West Terre Haute. Burial is in Roselawn
Memorial Park. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and prior to services Saturday.  
Marts, Margaret Louise    

Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at Cobblestone Crossings, our beloved mother, Margaret
Louise Marts, departed from this Earth to be with Jesus in His Kingdom. Margaret was
born Feb. 5, 1928, to Myrtle Marie Garloch Fry and Henry Pearly Fry. Her youth was
spent in Farmersburg, Ind.On June 8, 1946, she married Frederick Laverne Marts and
began her family in Terre Haute. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband;
and brothers, Jimmie and Bill Fry. Her love will be missed by her daughters, Patty Woods
and husband Garry, and Rosemary Hubbard and husband Ward. Her legacy will be
carried forward by four grandchildren, Bradley Woods and wife Angie, Brian Woods and
wife Jessy, Courtney and Anne Hubbard; and great-grandchildren, including Ethan,
Kelsey, Kaylee, Hunter and Olivia Woods, and Madi Unger. She also is survived by one
brother, Earl Fry and wife Edna; one sister, Betty Robinson and husband George; a
sister-in-law, Modena Fry; and many nieces and nephews.All of our hearts are burdened
by her passing but enlivened by the knowledge she is at peace.Funeral services will be
conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, in Callahan and Hughes Funeral Home, 605
South 25th Street, with Pastor Mark Grayless officiating. Visitation is scheduled for 4 to 7
p.m. today in the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.  
Meneely, Nicholas "Nick"    

Nicholas "Nick" Meneely, 25, of Terre Haute passed away on Jan. 7, 2010 in Terre Haute
Regional Hospital. He was born in Terre Haute on Feb. 19, 1984 to Nick Meneely and
Sheri Kingery Meneely. Nick enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and especially the
snow and being with his friends. He is survived by his mother, Sheri Kingery Hadley and
stepfather Tom Hadley of Terre Haute; his father, Nick Meneely and stepmother Cindy
Meneely of Terre Haute. His maternal grandmother, Shirley Kingery of Terre Haute; and
his paternal grandparents Don and Pat Meneely also of Terre Haute. Two sisters, Kim
Higar of Terre Haute and Maria Mullins and her husband Travis of Palmdale, Calif. His
several stepbrothers and stepsisters; Kraig Floyd and his wife Christina, Danny Watters
and his wife Kristi, Kelly Horsley, Chris Hadley, Tracey Henderson, and Michele Mattick.
His niece and nephew Britini and Eyan, and several aunts and uncles. He was preceded
in death by his paternal grandfather, William Kingery. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday,
Jan. 11, 2010 at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47804.
The Rev. Ryan Berryhill is officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time
Monday in the funeral home. Burial at Roselawn Memorial Park to follow.  
Myers, Wayne LeRoy    

Wayne LeRoy Myers, 84, of Terre Haute, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at 2:50 p.m., in his
residence. He had worked at Pfizer for 32 years, retiring in 1983. Wayne was born Aug.
11, 1925, in Terre Haute, to Raymond E. Myers and Sadie (Sparks) Myers. He is survived
by his wife, Phyllis (Moore) Myers, whom he married June 8, 1985; a daughter, Elaine
Roetter, and her daughter Kirsten "Chicky" Roetter, both of Danville, Ind.; a son, Terry
Wayne Myers of Terre Haute, and his daughters Whitney Vorndron and Halee Myers; two
brothers, William "Bill" Myers and his wife Louise of Prairieton, and Fred Myers and his
wife Peggy of Riley; and several nieces and nephews. Wayne and Don Coverstone leased
the Terre Haute Softball Stadium at First and Farrington streets in October 1963, and
league play started there in the spring of 1964. In 1976 he established the Terre Haute
Softball Hall of Fame. He was a member of the Amateur Softball Association Hall of Fame,
the Indianapolis A.S.A. Hall of Fame, Larry Bird's Wabash Valley Hall of Fame, and the
National A.S.A. Hall of Fame. He also was an honorary member of the Texas, Nebraska,
and Washington, DC A.S.A. Halls of Fame. Wayne served as president of Amateur
Softball Association of America in 1995 and 1996, and he threw out the first pitch at the
first Women's Fast Pitch Softball game at the 1996 Olympics in Columbus, Ga. Since 1976
he has been the Indiana A.S.A. commissioner. He was on the Indiana Softball
Championship team in 1949, for American Legion Post 40, in the Indiana State American
Legion Tournament. In 1982 he spoke to the Indiana House of Representatives and the
Indiana Senate on softball. He also officiated high school basketball for 26 years. He
received the Sagamore of the Wabash Valley by then Gov. Evan Bayh. He managed the
Terre Haute American Little League to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa.,
in 1961. Wayne was a graduate of Honey Creek High School and served in the U.S. Navy
during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post 346, Riley Lodge 390
Free and Accepted Masons, 33rd degree member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Terre
Haute, the Zorah Shrine, Order of the Eastern Star-Riley Chapter 22, Moose Lodge 1009,
and the Indiana Sheriffs Association. Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at 1
p.m. at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive, with Pastor Harold Throckmartin
officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park, with military honors provided by
American Legion Post 346. Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, from 2 to 8 p.m., in
the funeral home, and again on Friday from 11 a.m. until service time. If friends so desire,
the family has suggested that, memorial contributions may be made to either Shriners'
Hospital for Children, American Cancer Society, or VistaCare Hospice. Envelopes will be
provided at the funeral home.  
Burns, Robert C. "Bob"   

Robert C. "Bob" Burns, 80, of Terre Haute, passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, at Union
Hospital. He retired as a truck driver from Gibson Trucking after 32 years of service. He
also worked for Napa Auto Parts for 15 years. He was born April 1, 1929, in Indianapolis,
the son of Alva Burns and Mabel C. Haynes Burns. He was preceded in death by his wife,
Dorothy Ruth Pearson Burns. Survivors include his children, Rick Burns of West Terre
Haute, Bobby Burns, Cindy Burns, and Kenny Burns, all of Terre Haute, and Bradley
Burns of West Terre Haute; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also
was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cathy Rhuebottom. Funeral services will be 1
p.m. Friday at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. Third St., in West Terre Haute, with Pastor
Tim Orr officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be noon until
service time Friday.  
Annabelle (Valin) Reel

Annabelle (Valin) Reel, age 98, passed away January 12, 2010 at Union Hospital.  She
was born in Bicknell, Indiana on December 10, 1911 to Jule Valin and Mary (Morrison)
Valin.  Anna grew up in the Washington - Bicknell area.  She lived and worked in Chicago
and Rockford, Illinois as a young single woman.  Anna married Royce H. Reel on February
5, 1930 in Wheatland, Indiana.  She was co-owner and operator of the Wheatland, Indiana
Bakery for ten years.  Moving to Terre Haute in 1946 she was a homemaker and later
employed at the Bon-Ton Bakery.  She was an active member of the Tech Mother's Club,
former 1st United Methodist Church, current member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist
Church and Harmony Haven No-Kill Animal Sanctuary. Anna was very family oriented as
the mother of five children and many grandchildren.  She was an animal lover who will be
missed by her cats.  Anna was an optimistic, kind hearted, generous lady with a zest for
life and a great sense of humor.  She was preceded in death by her husband Royce in
1992.  She is survived by her children Joyce (John) Bailey, Anita Oswald of Terre Haute,
Dr. Jerry Reel (Joan), Albuquerque, New Mexico,  Shirley Reel, Redford, Michigan, Sue
Reel, Indianapolis, Indiana, 9 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 33 great great
grandchildren, several nieces, and her cats Jonah, Missy, Rexanna, and Inky, and special
friend Flossie Kirkman. Visitation will be held on Monday January 18, 2010 from 12pm-1pm
in Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be at 1pm Monday in the funeral home. Burial will

Mankin, Judy Ellen    

Judy Ellen Mankin, age 53, of Lewis, passed away Jan. 13, 2010 in the St. Vincent's
Hospital in Indianapolis. Born Feb. 3, 1956 in Hammond, Ind., she was the daughter of
Jack Thomas and Julia (Cummins) Duerlinger. Judy worked as a Quality Control Inspector
for DADC. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Brazil and also a member of
the Wabash Valley Motorcycle Club. She enjoyed riding her Harley Davidson Motorcycle
and being with her family and friends. Survivors include her long time companion Robert
Johnson of Lewis; two sons, Christopher and Chad Michael Mankin of Mesa, Ariz.; a
grandson, Blake A. Mankin of Mesa; her mother, Ellen Duerlinger of Terre Haute; her
father and stepmother, Jack Thomas and Bobbie Thomas of Brazil; four brothers, David
Thomas and wife Cheryl of Jenison, Mich., Randy Duerlinger and wife Jaymie of Terre
Haute, Jeff Duerlinger of Terre Haute, Richard Duerlinger and wife Chris of Roseville,
Calif.; three sisters, Stephanie Liston and husband Tony of Iowa, Robin Exline and
husband Mike of Terre Haute, and Raeann Jensen of Utah; and several nieces and
nephews. Her stepfather, Ron Duerlinger; stepmother, Joyce Thomas, and sister, Rhonda
Duerlinger preceded her. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday at the
Roselawn Funeral Home. Services are 2 p.m. with Pastor Tony Liston officiating. Burial will

Purcell, Rick E.   

Rick E. Purcell, beloved son of Paul and Sue (Hesler) Purcell and devoted father of Nicole
Marie Purcell, passed away of a massive heart attack on Jan. 12, 2010.Rick is survived by
his parents; daughter; two dear sisters, Dixie Disher and husband Doug of Avon, and
Denise Rowlett and husband David of Terre Haute; also a special cousin, Rob Steidel of
Indianapolis. Also surviving are nieces, Amanda Klopfenstein and husband Chad of Terre
Haute, Andrea Rowlett of Terre Haute, Chelsea Disher of Avon, and Kristen Rowlett of
Terre Haute; one nephew, Nicholas Disher of Avon; and several aunts, uncles, and
cousins.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Melvin and Mary Hesler and Clem
and Sadie Purcell.Rick was a graduate of Terre Haute North High School and attended
Indiana State University. He was a manager of a variety of retail stores and he owned
several businesses in his lifetime. Like many of his family, Rick was an avid golfer. He also
enjoyed fishing, and traveling. He was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in
Indianapolis, as well as, the Columbus Elks and the Columbus Moose Lodge.Rick had
many dear friends in Indianapolis, Terre Haute and Columbus. In lieu of flowers the family
suggests that donations in Rick's name may be made to the American Heart Association.
Private family services have been scheduled. Entombment will be in Roselawn Memorial
Park. Roselawn Funeral Home, 7500 North Clinton Street, Terre Haute, IN 47805, assisted
the family in making arrangements.  
Daley, Olivene    

Olivene Daley, 84, of Terre Haute, died at 4 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010, at Union Hospital.
She was a nutritional manager at Lost Creek Elementary School. Olivene was born Nov.
26, 1925, in Brazil, to Stanley Clay Johnson and Zola Marie (Boyd) Johnson. She is
survived by a son, Michael Daley and his wife Debra of Terre Haute; three daughters,
Janie Hensley and her husband Dave of Terre Haute, Nell Drinkard and her husband
Tommy of Appomattox, Va., and Margaret Monigold and her husband Bobby of
Fayetteville, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by her parents; her husband, Alfred Mile Daley, who died in 1988; a brother, Richard
Eugene Johnson; a sister, Edna Marie Robbins; and a grandson, CWO2 Scott M. Dowen,
USMC. Olivene was a great cook and enjoyed being with nature. Funeral services are 10
a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive, with
Pastor Brett Wilson officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is 4 to 8
p.m. Tuesday. The family suggests that, for those who desire, memorial contributions may
be made to the Terre Haute Humane Society in Olivene's name, envelopes will be available
at the funeral home.  
McKenzie, James H.    

James H. McKenzie, 91, of Terre Haute, passed away late Saturday evening, Jan. 16,
2010, in his home. He was born on Aug. 27, 1918, in Terre Haute, to Harry and Myra Belle
(Daly) McKenzie. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II. James
worked for Valentine Meat Packing, as a bookkeeper for over 30 years. He was a member
of the Veteran of Foreign Wars 972, American Legion 104, and the Moose Lodge. He
enjoyed woodworking and helping his wife wallpaper. He was preceded in death by his
parents; his wife Norma; and siblings, Margaret, George, John, Mary Elizabeth, and Alice
Catherine; and two infants. Survivors include two daughters, Jane McGrew and husband
Mark of Rosedale, and Ann Taylor and husband Richard of Terre Haute; grandchildren,
James Smith and wife Jane Ann of Terre Haute, Jill Smith and fiancé Robert Thompson of

Marquis, Donald Eugene   

Donald Eugene Marquis, passed away from this world on Jan. 18, 2010. He was born July
4, 1941, in Terre Haute, Ind., to Eugene Marquis and Nora (Marquis) Riley. He attended
Gerstmeyer Tech High School and retired from Speedway International. He is survived by
his devoted wife, Barbara; son, Donald C. Marquis; daughter, Donna Taylor and husband
Tim; grandchildren, Travis Taylor, Timothy Taylor and Chelsea Taylor. He was the proud
grandfather of four great-grandsons. Also left in passing are several surviving nieces,
nephews and cousins; and a stepmother, Marge. He was preceded in death by his parents;
sisters, Sharon and Karen; and brother, Robert (Terry) Marquis.He was in life a pillar of
strength and principle to his family, a kind and loving soul deeply loved by all who knew
him. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home, 7500
N. Clinton St. Services are 1 p.m. with Pastor Chris Newton officiating. Burial will follow in
Roselawn Memorial Park.  
McKillop, Gordon Eugene   

ROSEDALE — Gordon Eugene McKillop, 81, of Rosedale, passed away Jan. 17, 2010, at
Union Hospital in Terre Haute. Born June 22, 1929, in Terre Haute, he was the son of
Darrell McKillop and Dulcie (Cook) McKillop. He married his wife of 58 years, Jean Elizabeth
Martin, and she survives. Gordon served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked
and retired from CF Industries as a supervisor, and he also had worked for Allis Chalmers.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for more than 55 years. He also was a member of
the Horseshoe Club, where he was champion of many tournaments. He was an avid
gardener, animal lover, bird watcher, and enjoyed the outdoors. He was a wonderful
husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a very gentle and calming presence in
our lives. Survivors include his wife; three children, Terri Fields and husband Eddie of
Terre Haute, Kevin McKillop and wife Dina of Brazil, and Dale McKillop of Terre Haute;
seven grandchildren, Angela McKillop, Sherri Shoemaker and husband David, Lori Kelley
and fiancé Jim Rodgers, Chad McKillop, Jeff McKillop and wife Lisa, Khristina DeOreo and
husband Tony, and Ashley Fields and husband John; seven great--grandchildren; a
brother, Darrell McKillop and wife Doreen of Fontanet; a sister, Mary Ann Relford and
husband Allen of Rosedale; and several aunts, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in
death by his parents; son, Richard McKillop; infant daughter; a brother, Larry McKillop; and
daughter-in-law, Rheadon McKillop.Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Roselawn
Funeral Home, 7500 N Clinton St., in Terre Haute. Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the
funeral home, with Allen Relford officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in
Terre Haute. The Terre Haute Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 972 will conduct graveside
military services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Shelter or to the
no kill shelter of choice.  
Pond, Bonnie L. Williams    

Bonnie L. (Williams) Pond, 71, of Terre Haute died Wednesday Jan. 20, 2010 in her
residence. She had worked at GlasCol Apparatus for 42 years. Bonnie was born July 16,
1938 in Spencer, Ind. to Ted Williams and Ida Mae (Fiscus) Williams. She is survived by
three sisters: Iris Elrod and her husband Bob of Chandler, Ariz., Lulu Mae Thomson of
Terre Haute, and Maxine Hall and her husband Tom of Mesa, Ariz.; four nieces: Vicki Halan,
Cathy LeClair, Sherry Wade, and Pam Blaine; a nephew: Charles Hall; several great-nieces
and nephews and two special great-nieces: Christy Close and Stevie Slater; a
great-great-niece: Abigail Close; and a great-great-nephew: Ean Close. She was preceded
in death by her husband: Robert Pond; her parents; a son: Robert Charles Fuson; and a
brother: Charles E. Williams. Bonnie was a 1956 graduate of Honey Creek High School,
and attended Faith Wesylen Church. Visitation is from 1 until 3 p.m. Saturday Jan. 23, 2010
in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Dr., with a Daughters of the Nile Badoura 23
memorial service prior to the funeral services which will be at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Dan
Gormong officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Roselawn Memorial Park.  
Allen, Donna K. (Poff)    

Donna K. (Poff) Allen, passed away with her family at her side Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010.
She was born on Nov. 9, 1960, in Terre Haute, the daughter of Victor Poff and Carolyn
(Thomas) Poff. She married her companion of 31 years, Steve Allen, on May 5, 1984, and
he survives. Donna graduated from Ivy Tech Institute of Technology with a business
accounting degree. She worked as a machine operator for Novelis Inc., where she deeply
loved her coworkers and her job. She was a member of the Barbour Avenue United
Methodist Church, the Moose Lodge 1009, H.O.G. Harley Owners Group, and was a Boy
Scout and Cub Scout Leader. Her hobbies included riding Harley's, boating, water sports,
fishing, and participating in many Harley Davidson charitable event rides. She was a very
giving and caring person to everyone. Survivors in addition to her husband of 26 years;
include two sons, Matt Allen and James Allen, both of Terre Haute; a sister, Vicci Winkler
and husband Randy of West Terre Haute; three brothers, Rick Poff and wife Debbie of
Georgetown, Ind., Danny Poff of Birstein, Germany, and Kirby Poff and wife Patty of St.
Joseph, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents;
and a brother, Johnny Poff. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Barbour Avenue
United Methodist Church. Services are Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the church with Pastor Bob
Roush officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Thomas Funeral Home
assisted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Barbour
Avenue Church or to Vista Care Hospice.  
Schlup, Delores "Sue"   

Delores "Sue" Schlup, 73, of Terre Haute, passed away Jan. 25, 2010, in her residence.
Born Oct. 16, 1936, in Terre Haute, she was the daughter of James Clevy Bostick and Mary
Dorothy (Freeland) Bostick. She married Richard Stephen Schlup, and he preceded her.
Sue was a graduate of Wiley High School, Class of 1954. She had worked as a bookkeeper
for Sony, and as a bookkeeper/accountant for Cut Rate China, for more than 25 years. She
also had worked and retired as a caseworker for Nick Peters - Harrison Township Trustee
office. She had former affiliation with Order of Eastern Star. Her hobbies included books,
movies, spending time with her grandchildren and her cat, Max. Survivors include three
children, Christina Bryant and husband Willie of Terre Haute, Stephanie Sue Doty and
husband Chris of West Terre Haute, and James Richard Schlup and wife Marie of Terre
Haute; grandchildren, Stephanie Nicole Wilhelm and husband Steve of Terre Haute, Joshua
Doty and partner Wil Turpin of Indianapolis, Aaron Doty, Christopher Schlup, Tyler Schlup,
Alecia Schlup, Dusty Wallace, and Jason Wallace, all of Terre Haute, Glen Bryant, and
William D. Bryant, both of Belleville, Ill.; a brother, Richard Bostick and wife Louisa of Terre
Haute; two sisters-in-law, Betty Lawry, and Elnora Copra and husband John, all of Terre
Haute; and several nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents;
and a sister, Louise Monroe.Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, and also 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
